can i upgrade my cpu?
i have an athlon 64 x2 dual core processor. i would like to uppgrade it to the athlon 6400 with Windsor. i believe the max speed supported by my motherboard is 3.0 ghz but the 6400 should still work. though if at all possible i would like to upgrade it to a quad core processor. can i on my motherboard?

i have 3gb of 667mhz RAM
and i plan to get an Nvidia 8600GT graphics card

It seems likely for a windsor 6400+ as u said it supports 800mhz ram (DDR2) and only AM2, not 939 (DDR), has that but there is a little uncertainty. Can u downoad CPU-Z and tell me what socket it is because its not clear when being told apart from a 939.
If it is AM2 then yes you can, but you might need to perform a BIOS update. Since its a stock Acer one, its not sure if it can support Quadcore anyway, the architecture is different.
